Overview

The Bursar’s Office at NYMC is seeking a detail-orientedPart-Time Accountantto provide support in managing student accounts and related financial processes. This position is covered under the 1199 union agreement and offers flexible scheduling within a 10-hour weekly commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound phone calls and respond to incoming inquiries regarding student accounts.

  • Answer emails promptly and professionally.

  • Post insurance charges accurately to student accounts.

  • Perform electronic filing and maintain organized records.

  • Run and review financial and account-related reports for accuracy.

  • Prepare and send communications to students regarding account status and balances.

Qualifications

Education requirement:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.

Technical/computer skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Banner or similar student information systems preferred.

Prior experience:Prior experience in accounting, billing, or a bursar’s office environment is a plus.

Other skills/requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (phone and email).

Minimum Salary

USD $28.80/Hr.

Maximum Salary

USD $29.37/Hr.
