HOKE COUNTY SCHOOLS 2025-2026 After School Care WorkerTitle: After School Care Worker Reports To: Principal Terms of Employment: Part Time Salary: $15/Hour FLSA Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-ExemptQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent or special diploma required. American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification OR obtain certification within 90 days of appointment date Experience working with children. Supervises: NoneEssential Job Functions: Assist the site coordinator. Assist with cleaning up after snack and activities and help to maintain the cleanliness and order of play and storage areas to include toys, games, and manipulatives according to guidelines and procedures. Conduct group activities as directed by the site coordinator; plan independently and implement daily activities for children. Supervise children as directed by the site coordinator by maintaining effective program rules and limits; manage conflicts among children; and help to maintain optimal safety of all children in the program at all times. Build positive relationships with children and other staff members Attend 15 hours of child care training each year. Maintain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification: applicable coursework shall be included in the 15 hour requirement. Attend annual Safety Monitor training; first Safety Monitor training must be attended within 6 months of appointment start date; applicable coursework shall be included in the 15 hour requirement Attend site staff meetings including other workshops and in-service training programs related to job goal Be assigned, as necessary, to an alternate site on non-school days of service. Perform other incidental tasks or services consistent with the job goal of this position. Provide outstanding customer service and use positive interpersonal communications skills. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Physical and Cognitive Requirements: The major physical and cognitive requirements listed below are applicable to the After School Care Worker job classification within Hoke County Schools.
