About Us
The Belton Center for the Arts (BCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the cultural life of Belton and surrounding communities through visual arts, music, literary art, and educational programming. We host gallery exhibitions, offer classes for all ages, support local artists, and promote arts accessibility throughout the Upstate region of South Carolina.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and organized Executive Director to lead the BCA. This individual will serve as the face of the organization, ensuring operational excellence while working closely with the Board of Directors to support the BCA’s mission, fundraising efforts, and program development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Administration
· Develop and articulate a clear vision for the art center, identify long term goals, and implement a strategic plan that aligns with the center’s mission.
· Oversee day-to-day operations, including volunteers, programs, and facilities.
· Understand budgets and financial statements and manage the center’s finances responsibly.
· Develop and execute art exhibitions, cultural programming, and adult and children’s classes.
Fundraising and Development
· Identify and lead efforts to diversify revenue generation including grants, donor cultivation, sponsorship development, membership campaigns and fundraising events.
· Identify and pursue grant opportunities, manage grant applications, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Marketing and Community Engagement
· Articulate the art center’s mission and impact to diverse audiences, including community leaders, local business and industry, educational institutions, donors, and the media.
· Grow and maintain BCA’s online presence through its website, email, and other social media.
· Create promotional materials and press releases for events and classes.
· Build strong relationships with artists, donors, patrons, and the wider community.
Required Qualifications
· 1 year experience in nonprofit management or arts leadership
· Strong fundraising, grant writing, and financial management skills
· Excellent communication, organizational, and public speaking skills
· Familiarity with social media and the software required for fundraising, collaboration, document creation and storage, communication, marketing, productivity, and record keeping
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Arts Administration, Nonprofit Management, Arts Education, or related field
· 3-5 years’ experience in nonprofit management, development and fundraising, or arts leadership
