Job Description:

· Contractor Role - Functional Genomics Integrative Analytics (FGIA) Group . The successful candidate will be analyzing data from functional genomic screens to Client and validate tumor-intrinsic and microenvironmental targets to overcome resistance to targeted and immuno-therapies.

· As such, you will collaborate closely with colleagues in Discovery Research spanning therapeutic and functional areas, ranging from computational biology, oncology, immuno-oncology and -chemistry, based either remote or at our Cambridge, MA Site.

In this exciting role, you will:

· Contribute to multiple stages of drug discovery by developing, benchmarking, and applying analytic tools and pipelines for in vitro and in vivo functional genomics screens.

· Contribute to iterative experimental design of appropriately statistically powered CRISPR-screens in the in vitro and in vivo settings.

· Perform robust statistical and bioinformatics analyses of functional genomics screens to decode genes/pathways mediating key biological processes and/or therapy resistance/response mechanisms.

· Develop and apply cutting-edge statistical approaches to delineate functionally significant signaling network perturbations through the analysis of pooled CRISPR screening with single-cell transcriptomics (CROP-seq, Perturb-seq).

· Apply bioinformatics approaches to integrate the findings from functional genomic screens with additional biological data streams for target identification and prioritization in addition to biological hypothesis generation.

· Provide clear interpretation of high-throughput genetic screening data and propose pathways for further computational and biological validation to our therapeutic area partners and collaborators.

· Work in a highly collaborative environment, tightly embedded in project teams across scientific disciplines and functions, bringing together genetics, pharmacology, chemistry, and molecular biology to accelerate the discovery of Client drug targets.

· Keep up to date on new computational methodologies and incorporate into internal pipelines as appropriate. Keep current on literature related to your field.

· Effectively communicate in a clear and professional manner, both in writing and orally.

· Collaborate with experimental scientists to characterize Client targets coming from genetics, translational and disease pathway exploration, explore target engagement, research mechanisms of action, and provide functional validation of Client drug targets.

In addition, but not limited to, you will:

· Engage with Discovery Teams to translate biological hypotheses into computational interrogations of functional genomics data as well as multi-omics molecular profiles.

· Survey the single-cell and functional genomics literature on Client bioinformatics analysis methodology and algorithms and introduce them in-house when appropriate.

· Identify, analyze, and integrate internal and external data and knowledge resources to enable data mining in a biological context to inform target validation and mechanism of action.

· Assist with project management by coordinating efforts with internal and external collaborators.
