Partner with FTS Inc!  We're working with an organizations looking to add a Bookkeeper to their growing, fast-paced team in Rockville, MD. This is a contract to hire, 5-day in-office role, giving you the chance to work side-by-side with a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Process and code accounts payable invoices, maintain vendor records, and manage W-9 and EFT documentation.
• Post daily bank deposits and prepare lockbox journal entries in Great Plains.
• Perform reconciliations for accounts receivable, LCA lockbox deposits, and outstanding checks, resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Prepare adjusting journal entries and maintain the monthly depreciation schedule, due by the 10th of each month, including participation in the annual fixed asset audit.
• Support year-end audit preparation and generate monthly and annual financial reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred, with at least 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong accounting, bookkeeping, and reconciliation skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and general computer operations.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to adapt to process changes, manage deadlines, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Skilled at problem-solving, research, and multitasking while working independently or as part of a team.
