Facilities Manager

Responsibilities:

• Act as the main contact for landlord-related contractors and repairs/maintenance (R&M).
• Handle routine maintenance and repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and mechanical systems.
• Oversee the upkeep of the venue, coordinating third-party vendors for cleaning, pest control, landscaping, equipment rentals, fencing, parking lot/sidewalk cleanliness, trash pickup, and more.
• Manage R&M projects, delegating tasks as needed.
• Monitor energy usage and conservation, ensuring departments follow cost-effective protocols.
• Maintain fire systems (alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers), schedule maintenance, and log monthly tests.
• Oversee life-saving equipment (defibrillators, first aid kits), keeping inventory stocked in coordination with operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards, as well as company safety and security policies.
• Manage the Facilities staff schedule, labor costs, and availability.
• Conduct and log regular safety walk-throughs, ensuring all systems (exit signs, keycards, plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc.) are functioning properly.
• Handle hiring, terminations, and conflict resolution for the department.
• Winter-specific: Manage heaters, generators, snow removal, and equipment to prevent pipes from freezing.
• Respond to facility emergencies and troubleshoot repairs as needed.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules for all building systems.
• Collaborate with other departments for event setups and operational needs.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Assist with facility upgrades, renovations, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in venue, building, or facilities management.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent work experience is acceptable.
• Experience in energy management and knowledge of renewable energy systems.
• Heavy machinery operation experience and relevant certifications.
• S95 certification, additional Certificate of Fitness, DOH, and OSHA certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety).
• Leadership and people management experience across multiple service areas.
• Ability to work independently and drive results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and negotiation.
• Confidence, professionalism, and a proactive mindset.
• Budget management experience, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in different environments.
• Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
