The advanced practice provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) within the ambulatory setting works in collaboration with, and is an integral member of, a multidisciplinary health care team. The APP provides comprehensive care In the Cardio-Oncology Program based primarily out of Center City, PA but may include regional centers including Asplundh in Abington, PA. The Cardio-Oncology Program is a unique multidisciplinary program working in close collaboration with colleagues from SKCCC. Patients comprise individuals being treated for any form of malignancy (hematologic, solid tumor, etc) or candidates for SCT/BMT who may have underlying cardiovascular disease or develop cardiovascular complications secondary to their oncologic treatments. The candidate will perform complete history & physicals, document in medical records, prescribe appropriate cardiac treatments including appropriate testing and medications. They will help develop protocols for cardiotoxicity management and survivorship initiatives, engage in community outreach if desired, and perform inpatient consultations as the program evolves. Candidates will participate in clinics at Honickman during the normal work week and incorporate TeleMedicine as appropriate. Expected to develop skills in interpretation of laboratories and ECGs. No call, no holidays. Certification required (PALS). Responsibilities include assessment and management, diagnosis, formulating plan of care, documentation, communication and collaboration, and professional practice. The role requires a Master's Degree, National Board Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, BLS certification, and cardiology experience is preferred.
