About the Role
The Company is seeking a Department Chair for its Political Science Department. The successful candidate will be the chief representative and leader of the department, responsible for internal affairs, and the primary liaison between the departmental faculty and the university administration. Key duties include setting and meeting enrollment, retention, and graduation targets, scheduling courses, supervising all faculty and staff, and ensuring the department's goals align with those of the university. The Department Chair will also be involved in faculty evaluation, tenure, and promotion, as well as in resolving any issues that may arise between faculty and students. Applicants for the Department Chair position should have a Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field, a strong record of teaching and research, and experience in academic administration. The ideal candidate will be actively engaged in the political science community, with a diverse international experience, and a background that may include work in governmental, non-profit, or international organizations. The Department Chair will be expected to expand and enhance the department's programs and to participate in student recruitment efforts.
