Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist capable of setting up and running production for CNC turning lathe machines in our lathe department. You will assist with complex part programming for multi-spindle, multi-tool turning centers using G and M codes and live tooling.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning lathe machines.
• Assist in complex part programming for turning centers.
• Control tooling, including inserts and collets.
• Understand machinery capabilities and limitations.
• Fill out necessary paperwork, including routing verification.
• Assist in determining tooling and fixturing needs.
• Coordinate chip collection as needed.
• Monitor equipment and machines for safety and mechanical issues.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years setup knowledge of CNC Lathe experience.
• 5+ years of on-the-job experience.
• Experience working in a job shop environment.
• Proficiency in using calipers and micrometers.
• Familiarity with Okuma, Hardinge, and DMG Mori equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical or machining courses are desirable.
• Editing skills are a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry 20-45 pounds.
• Occasional stooping, reaching, walking, and sitting required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
