THE OPPORTUNITY / RESPONSIBILITIES Self-starter to work independently to timely draft, review, and negotiate a large variety of publishing agreements including author/artist, reprint, purchase, work-for-hires, amendments for trade and education groups. Experience working on licensing agreements with toy and media companies a plus. Advise in-house staff about contract interpretation, industry custom and practice. Mentor and collaborate with contract department staff and review agreements.

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT ( Qualifications)

Ability to translate deal terms into an agreement, work independently, problem solve and draft contract language where no precedent is available. Experience negotiating with literary agents. Knowledge of intellectual property rights and keeping current with industry issues, including AI. Minimum of six years of publishing contract experience and a high level of knowledge of standard publishing contract terms. Experience supervising others.
