Position Overview:

This associate position offers the opportunity to work across multiple offices (DC or Texas) in a highly dynamic practice. The role encompasses sophisticated environmental and regulatory counseling, especially in the context of corporate and real estate transactions. Key responsibilities include due diligence, regulatory compliance across federal and state statutes (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA, TSCA, FIFRA), enforcement actions, ESG and climate disclosure advising, and administrative litigation under NEPA, ESA, and other core statutes. Ideal candidates will have industry experience with energy companies and familiarity with OCSLA and offshore/onshore oil and gas development. The role provides extensive mentorship, high-level client interaction, and exposure to cutting-edge regulatory and litigation matters affecting energy and environmental policy.

Candidate Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school and bar admission in TX or DC (or eligibility to waive in)
  • 2–4 years’ experience in environmental law practice
  • Proficiency in transactional environmental due diligence and risk mitigation
  • Knowledge of EPA regulatory frameworks and core environmental laws
  • Experience advising energy companies highly preferred
  • Prior exposure to OCSLA or public land/ocean permitting is a plus
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong academic credentials and collaborative work ethic
