Senior Living: Executive Director of Marketing & Sales

JSL enriches the lives of older adults by providing housing and services that enable our residents to thrive within our communities. We have campuses in West Bloomfield and Oak Park with six senior living communities which include independent and assisted living. The Executive Director of Marketing and Sales will play a vital role in driving revenue growth, brand awareness, and market positioning. The responsibilities of this position are diverse and far-reaching, requiring a unique blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and technical expertise.

This role requires a strategic minded leader who will be able to align marketing strategies with business objectives and has a strong understanding of the local market and its challenges.We are looking for an energetic leader who has a proven record of leasing success, leading teams and developing effective sales and marketing strategies in senior housing and will be able to hit the ground running.

This position will oversee both sales and marketing teams, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieving business goals. They will work closely with our sales team, executive/administrative leadership, consultants, and will be responsible for the managing of all digital and other marketing strategies, campaigns, website content, advertisements, and leasing events.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Goal Setting
  • Develop comprehensive sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives including setting measurable targets for sales and marketing team
  • Conduct and gather market research and competitor analysis to assist in strategy adjustments
Team Leadership and Management
  • Responsible for leading and managing high-performing sales and marketing teams. Including: the hiring, training, and mentoring sales and marketing staff, conducting evaluations and providing feedback while fostering a positive, results-driven work environment.
  • Reporting to senior management and board members on sales and marketing performance.
Budget Management and Resource Allocation
  • Collaborate with Finance on the creation of budgets for sales and marketing.
  • Effectively manage the marketing budget and resource allocation.
  • Develop, implement marketing campaigns and analyzing return on investment of these efforts.
Market Research and Analysis
  • Reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as conversion rates, lead generation, and census/revenue growth.
  • Responsible for staying ahead of market trends and competitor strategies by conducting thorough market research to identify opportunities and trends.
  • Utilize data to make informed decisions and strategy adjustments to improve our marketing positioning and ensure we remain competitive in the market.
Product and Service Development
  • Ensure offerings align with market demand.
  • Structuring pricing strategies and product positioning while identifying new market opportunities.
  • Ensuring brand consistency across all channels, including social media, advertising, and content marketing.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field or MBA or a master's degree in marketing. Related experience in the field will be considered as well.

Professional Experience: 10-15 years of experience in sales and marketing roles, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in management positions.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM software and marketing automation tools. Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and techniques, including social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO).

Soft Skills : Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills, strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities and adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
