The incumbent in this position is responsible for procuring goods and services on behalf of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Fleet Management Department, and managing various Fleet procurement processes, including performing analysis on them. The individual is responsible for the procurement of a variety of assigned commodity groups and services, including the review of electronic requisitions, preparation of bid documents, conducting pre-bid conferences, analysis of bid responses and aiding Purchasing in the preparation of purchase orders, related to the acquisition and operations of the Fleet Management. Work requires exercising considerable independent judgment in resolving problems and issues relative to vendors, performing technical research and preparing reports, performing analysis on fleet related services and reconciling departmental purchase requests and requirements.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a governmental centralized purchasing operation area, or prior experience working in a purchasing department is required. An equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience may be considered. Knowledge and understanding of inventory/purchase order management processes and the ability to multitask across geographical locations is required.
Experience with Lawson Financial Management system is preferred. Experience in performing analysis in operational performances. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and able to travel to all Seminole Reservations. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
