Title: Flight Instructor (CFI) Position Type: Part-Time Staff Search Type: External - minimum 7 days Department: 25R000 - Justice, Safety & Military Science Division: 2R0000 - Academic Affairs Position Location: Other EKU Location Driver Classification: Non-Driver FLSA: Non-Exempt Schedule Type:Part Time, No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week) Retirement: None Contact Person: James "Zach" Staten Job Summary/Basic Functions The CFI will provide flight, simulator, and ground instruction in accordance with Part 61 FAA regulations, FAA Airmen’s Information Manual, advisory circulars, airport operations, and EKU policies and procedures. Schedule students, maintain training records, and ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by each student in the Private Pilot, Commercial, and Flight Instructor training courses. Minimum Qualifications Education High School diploma is required. Experience FAA Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) – Airplane Single Engine is required. FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single Engine Land is required. 200+ hours of flight time is required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree is preferred. Proficiency in the Cessna 172 or other high-wing, fixed tricycle-gear training aircraft is preferred. Sponsorship This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
