SUMMARY:

As a member of PNB’s collaborative Revenue Team, the Gift Officer is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and prospective donors as part of PNB’s annual fundraising campaign. The Gift Officer position is a unique opportunity for a motivated and experienced development professional to impact strategy and growth. This position requires both strategic vision and a hands-on approach with knowledge of all facets of development and a good working understanding of nonprofit best practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & EXPECTATIONS:

The Gift Officer is responsible for managing a robust portfolio of donors supporting the annual fund, special initiatives, and special events. The Gift Officer is a strategic thinker, has deep experience engaging with donors, and a successful track record securing philanthropic revenue. A strong candidate is donor-centered, goal-oriented, and easily presents the skills of patience, respect, thoughtfulness, and sound judgment. Candidates must have a successful history of partnership with board volunteer fundraisers, and have a collaborative spirit, enabling strong relationships with staff and board colleagues to influence positive outcomes.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve collaboratively on a team of development professionals, charged with identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, stewarding, and recognizing donors to meet financial and quantitative goals
  • Build and facilitate plans to cultivate existing donors including one-on-one meetings, invitations to events, participation in events and thoughtful cultivation with the goal to open new opportunities for funding and to deepen existing relationships
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100-125 donors annually
  • Leverage data and reporting from the CRM (Tessitura) to inform stewardship and solicitation plans
  • Communicate skillfully verbally, in email, and in proposal-writing to produce complete and thorough communications with donors and colleagues
  • Understand and be well-versed in the funding opportunities and priorities of the organization to contribute the voice of the donor in strategic planning
  • Interpret donors' interests and capacity to match them with funding opportunities
  • Participate in donor engagement events, including performances, receptions, dinners, lunches, and fundraising events
  • Proactively use the tools and processes to record donor engagement activities and pull pertinent data from the Tessitura database
  • Coordinate day-to-day gift processing activities, ensuring accurate processing and stewardship of gifts.
  • Process and acknowledge gifts timely and accurately
  • Provide reports and other tools to keep organizational leaders and revenue team apprised of major giving
  • Set clear goals and priorities, holding yourself accountable to meet strategic priorities
  • Consistently present solutions to problems to achieve goals and measurable
  • Be an innovative and positive influence on the team and across the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2-4 years related non-profit management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with board members and community leaders to achieve fundraising goals
  • Working knowledge of Tessitura, especially managing data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, donors, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to attend performances, donor receptions, or other PNB, Board, or community related events when necessary
  • Flexibility to work some evening performances and attend additional donor events in the evenings and on weekends
  • Ability to travel locally if necessary
  • Interest in or knowledge of dance and the performing arts a plus.

Pay Range : $65,000 - $70,000/hour; Salaried, Non-Exempt
