Our elegant Bistro, contained within our unique high-end retail destination, is seeking a creative and experienced Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary program in Baton Rouge, LA. This unique role blends restaurant dining, event catering, and packaged culinary products within a one-of-a-kind high-end retail destination. As Head Chef, you will oversee all back-of-house operations, including menu development, culinary execution, catering, and packaged food markets . You’ll collaborate closely with the Bistro General Manager to elevate both the dining and retail experience, ensuring every dish, event, and product reflects the refined standards of our brand. Job Description: Our Head Chef must have passion and dedication for the culinary arts and share their experience and enthusiasm with the rest of the team. Maintaining high standards for cleanliness, food quality and guest service will be your number 1 priority as our Head Chef. Recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating the culinary personnel will be maintained by the Head Chef. Exemplary leadership abilities are a must to be successful with our brand. Administrative functions including scheduling, inventory control, catering functions and large events will also be the responsibility of the Head Chef.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant, boutique café, or catering operation.
  • The Head Chef must have creativity and vision to design dishes and packaged foods that balance flavor, presentation, and profitability.
  • A requirement for the Kitchen Manager is a strong background with team building and mentoring others and must be able to inspire and motivate the team.
  • The Head Chef must have proven success in financial responsibility, cost control and inventory management
  • The Head Chef must be able to follow the systems that are already in place within the restaurant and hold their team accountable to those standards. 
  • The Head Chef must have the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment that blends restaurant dining, event catering, and retail food markets .
