Laser & CNC Equipment Technician

At Dant Clayton, we design, engineer, and manufacture innovative stadium and arena seating systems used across North America. We're currently seeking a Laser & CNC Equipment Technician to join our manufacturing team and help us maintain the high standards our customers expect.
In this critical role, you will take ownership of our laser and CNC equipment operations—from programming and nesting to maintenance and optimization. If you’re a hands-on technician with a knack for precision, a passion for continuous improvement, and experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.
What You'll DoProgram lasers and CNC equipment; perform part nesting for maximum material efficiency.
Identify material optimization and process improvement opportunities to minimize waste.
Monitor and maintain high cut quality and manage necessary inventory.
Implement and manage preventative maintenance procedures for all laser and CNC equipment.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality concerns and support continuous improvement.
Train and support team members on laser and CNC best practices, quality standards, and inspection techniques.
Maintain inventory of laser consumables (nozzles, tips, gases, setup tools, etc.).
Keep detailed maintenance and production records.
Grow your 3D software and design skills in collaboration with the Design Team.
5+ years of CNC laser operation experience, with emphasis on aluminum and sheet steel.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and 2D drafting.
Experience with laser nesting software (e.g., SigmaNest, Striker Systems, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of material types, laser cutting compatibility, and blueprint interpretation.
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
Clear and professional communication skills; able to work cross-functionally.
Familiarity with 3D design software.
Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand and walk on the plant floor for up to 10-hour shifts.
This role is based in our Louisville manufacturing facility and will primarily work on the plant floor. Safety, collaboration, and excellence are core to everything we do.
