Responsibilities
  • Conducting funeral services and viewing ceremonies with professionalism and dignity.
  • Consulting with families to determine their wishes and needs regarding funeral arrangements.
  • Preparing the deceased for burial or cremation, ensuring respectful handling at all times.
  • Coordinating transportation of the deceased and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Managing funeral home operations, including staffing and overseeing the daily workflow.
  • Maintaining and updating pertinent records and documentation related to funerals and services.
  • Providing grief support resources to families, offering guidance and assistance tailored to their needs.

Requirements

  • Valid funeral director license in the state of practice.
  • Bachelor’s degree in funeral service or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience in a funeral home or related consumer services field is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
