Job Summary:

As a Wireman or Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for executing electrical projects, diagnosing electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. You will work on a variety of residential electrical systems.. The ideal candidate should have a valid wireman or journeyman electrician license, strong technical skills, and a commitment to electrical safety.

Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and electrical components, following local and national electrical codes.

  2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical problems, identify faults, and perform necessary repairs to ensure the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems.

  3. Blueprint Reading: Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems and installations.

  4. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and minimize hazards.

  5. Code Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards in all electrical work.

  6. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and inspect electrical equipment, tools, and materials to ensure they are in good working condition.

  7. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute electrical projects efficiently and within budget.

  8. Customer Service: Communicate with clients, provide explanations and recommendations, and address customer inquiries professionally.

  9. Documentation: Complete accurate and detailed records, including work orders, reports, and inspection documentation.

  10. Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentice electricians as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid wireman or journeyman electrician license.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school education is a plus).

  • Proven experience as a journeyman electrician, with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.

  • Familiarity with local and national electrical codes and regulations.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and safety consciousness.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
