Position Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities at our beverage production facility. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure the facility's equipment and infrastructure are well-maintained and operate efficiently to meet production goals. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians and work closely with other departments to ensure minimal downtime and the highest product quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of 10+ maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment reliability and longevity
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of production machinery and facility infrastructure
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents within the maintenance department
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and expenditures
  • Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, budgets, and performance
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Stay current with industry best practices and technology advancements
  • Address all employee or personnel related tasks, and performance issues under the direction of the Director, Production & Engineering and Human Resources Manager including but not limited to: employee timecards, time off requests, corrective actions, hiring maintenance technicians
  • Work with engineers and vendors on special projects
  • Work closely with all staff including department managers & supervisors

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in maintenance management; manufacturing maintenance management background preferred including experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Beverage industry experience required
  • Experience in high-speed bottling field required
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair
  • Strong technical knowledge of production machinery and facility systems
  • Proficient in computerized maintenance management systems (E-Work Orders, CMMS), Microsoft Excel and GSuite
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing process preferred (5-S, Six Sigma, Kaizen)
  • OSHA knowledge preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information:

  • This is a full-time position (exempt salary) located in Hilo, HI
