Mechanical Lead Technician - Precision Manufacturing

Location: Greenville, SC

Duration: 12-month W2 contract (possibility of contract-to-hire)

Hours: 40-hour week + overtime

Start Date: Immediate

Hourly Pay Rate: $35 - $45 per hour

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Lead Technician with extensive experience in precision manufacturing and complex machinery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the performance of advanced manufacturing equipment and fine-tolerance machine tools to achieve the highest level of product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure machine tools (including pick & place equipment) operate at the most accurate levels possible
• Lead assembly, maintenance, support, and fault-finding of precision machinery
• Maximize operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment
• Work with extremely fine tolerances (down to 0.1mm)
• Operate and maintain precision machine tools, including lathes and mills
• Assemble and troubleshoot pneumatic systems according to diagrams
• Create or modify prototype parts using machine shop tools
• Collaborate with electrical and controls teams for proper component installation and function
• Inspect incoming parts for quality and ensure compliance with design specifications
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations

Skills & Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in automation manufacturing and precision mechanics
• Strong background in Tool & Die Making beneficial, or similar precision work
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in operating Mill and Lathe machines
• Extensive experience in mechanical assembly, especially in automation manufacturing
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
• Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to maintain a safe working environment
