As the Accounting and Finance Intern you will: Work with the finance team at MEDI to improve speed and accuracy of entire financial process Process Expenses/Billing of Client Assist with gathering and organizing receipts from team members and process through Certify. Assist with implementation of a new digital process to improve submissions of receipts to be processed. Assist with packaging receipts that will be billed to the client Assist with processing corporate card payments/receipts/billing client Create a process to expedite payments for coach reimbursement and Create a baseline measurement for current turnaround and then measure improvements/speed of process. Accounts Receivables Improve process when receiving list of outstanding Accounts Receivable (AR) Create a better process for all details on Accounts Receivable to be in one location. Details come from Navvis Weekly Develop a system to have a view of what invoices have been paid Data entry for all AR Information into an accounting system for MEDI or Hubspot with a goal of accessing key billing contact information to be viewed by Company and by deal. Goal nothing is kept outside of a system that can be viewed by all. Travel Credits Assist with matching used credits with details for billing process in collaboration with Client Delivery team/coaches providing the details. Sales/Revenue Assist with implementation of new pricing tool from Smartsheets to accurately create a price Assist in the sales process to produce accurate revenue information to package to send over to Navvis accounting. Assist with the coaches to be paid process Commission Transparency and Communication Process Create system to get information from Navvis related to expected commissions to sales team members monthly to improve transparency on what is expected on payments. General Assist the MEDI and Navvis team in researching and analyzing financial data Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows Gain knowledge of how the accounting and finance department impacts MEDI and Navvis. Take on additional tasks/projects as needed to learn about accounting and finance operations Build relationships with all members of the Navvis finance and MEDI Sales/Finance teams. A day in the Life: Meet with the team to discuss the daily and weekly priorities Maintain the general ledger with journal entries Create financial statements Cross-check financial statements with source data for accuracy Use accounting software to performing accounting and reporting duties Assist in the processing of expense, Credit card reconciliation and packaging and billing client Connecting MEDI systems What Success Looks Like in this Role: Leaving a positive impact on the organization through the successful completion of projects Learning more about your professional goals as a future accounting professional Streamlining workflows from excel spreadsheets and data entry within existing systems to become more connected Confidently dig through old processes and discover new ways of doing work in a more efficient and effective manner. Working as a collaborative team member and making recommendations on what you are learning and where we can improve our process. Build and strengthen relationships between MEDI and Navvis team members to develop a more effective process for accounting. Requirements We are excited about you if you have these things: Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in accounting Basic knowledge of accounting and financial principles (GAAP) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong executive function skills in terms of creative thinking, decision making and judgment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both discretion and honesty Desire to learn about and work in a highly dynamic high-growth company and to take on new challenges Basic Microsoft Office skills (advanced excel required)- Must be able to do advanced formulas in excel.
