Mental Health Tech

Day Shift 7 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Full-Time 

Metropolitan Behavioral Health (a UHS facility)

A new, 144-bed behavioral health facility – Metropolitan Behavioral Hospital provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24 hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in ages from preschool through geriatrics.  All MHTs work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

Education: Associates degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, or similar health sciences field is required or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, or similar health sciences field is highly desirable.

Experience : Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Work Hours Day Shift ~ 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  This position that will rotate holidays and work every other weekend.
