This position will be onsite at our offices in South Burlington, VT for the first six months. After that time period a hybrid schedule may be determined.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Grants Management Senior Specialist is responsible for performing various duties related to the completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements for The University of Vermont Health Network and related entities as impacted by restricted fund accounts. They will serve as an advisor for all Network entities to ensure compliance and consistency in reporting of restricted funds. They will record transactions for designated sections of financial statements and will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all other areas under the restricted fund umbrella. The Senior Grant Specialist completes work papers, reviews work papers and journal entries and serves as a resource to all areas for questions of restricted funds. They will be responsible for providing training to new staff and new users of the Grants Management Systems. They will assist in the maintenance and production of the monthly financial reports and billings. They are responsible for providing restricted fund support to all areas of Finance (to include, but not limited to, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Management Accounting, Finance Administration and Grants Management) as well as the Development team and anyone else needing assistance regarding restricted funds. They will actively participate and assist in leading the completion of the annual Uniform Guidance Single Audit and assist with the Grants Management portion of the 990 Tax filing and the Financial Statement Audit and Footnotes.

EDUCATION:

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline. Direct healthcare system experience is preferred. Restricted fund, research or foundation accounting experience is desired.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Four or more years of relevant experience required, health care or fund accounting strongly preferred. Experience with contract review, grant auditing, and/or research finances are a plus.
