PAY RATE: $18.50 - $24.21, depending on qualifications and experience

JOB SUMMARY

The main responsibilities of this position will be to perform landscape maintenance for parks, park strips, and various other areas owned and maintained by Lehi City.

  • Performs a variety of working level skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance, upkeep and repair of recreation facilities, parks, grounds and general environments.
  • The primary responsibilities of this job are weed control, basic irrigation maintenance, and keeping your assigned parks and restrooms clean and safe.
  • Secondary responsibilities include a wide variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance and construction
  • The successful candidate will act and serve on behalf of the citizens of Lehi City in offering stewardship in Lehi City Parks and related areas.
  • The successful candidate will labor as a public servant to serve the city's residents and meet the ever changing and sometimes unexpected needs of the community.
  • The successful candidate will have an inward desire for improvement, practice a positive and growth mindset, and exhibit a professional attitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible experience in the maintenance, upkeep, and beautification of turf, parks, facilities and related environs.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid Utah Non-Commercial Pesticide Applicators License required within 6 months of hire date.
  • Other certifications may be required.
  • Some knowledge of equipment such as backhoe, loader, dump truck, mowers, tractor, power over-seeders, aerators, thatcher, welders, trimmers, etc.
  • Landscape and sprinkler system maintenance.
  • Hazards and related safety precautions associated with equipment operations.
  • Knowledge of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and pesticides, and proper application of the same.
  • Knowledge of turf management.
  • Knowledge of weed control.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.

Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test.
