Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented pharmacist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription orders while providing excellent support and counseling to nursing facility staff and advising physicians on medication therapy.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
• Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and making changes to prescription orders.
• Ensure the accuracy and efficient fulfillment of prescription orders.
• Dispense medications and provide support and counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
• Advise physicians about medication therapy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
• Retail pharmacy experience in a high-volume environment highly preferred
• Long-term or closed-door pharmacy experience as a Pharmacist preferred, but not required

Work Environment

This role involves working 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime. The schedule is from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday (2nd Shift). There will be 2 weeks of training on the 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The position requires standing for the entire shift and involves working in a retail pharmacy environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $61.00 - $63.00/hr.
