Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacist for a 5-month contract opportunity covering for a leave of absence in Houston, TX, beginning November 24, 2025. This role offers one of three available shifts: 7:00am–5:30pm, 8:00am–6:30pm, or 11:00am–9:30pm.

This role offers the opportunity to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting, contributing directly to patient safety and effective medication management. As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will manage the medication process, identify and prevent drug-related issues, and ensure the highest standards of medication safety for patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote pharmaceutical care by managing medication processes and resolving drug-related problems.
• Perform all duties of a registered pharmacist in compliance with hospital and departmental standards.
• Ensure medication appropriateness based on patient diagnosis, weight/BSA, allergies, and potential interactions.
• Accurately enter, verify, and process medication orders; ensure timely delivery of doses.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control procedures in sterile product preparation.
• Maintain investigational drug records per policy and support clinical trials as needed.
• Conduct discharge medication reviews, ensuring patients and caregivers understand their therapies.
• Support patient safety systems, continuous quality improvement, and smooth daily pharmacy operations.
• Serve as a professional role model for pharmacy technicians and colleagues.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy
• Active Texas RPh license
• 2+ years of hospital staff pharmacist experience or 5+ years of high-volume retail experience
• 20 hours of ACPE- or ASHP-accredited training in compounding sterile products
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, medication safety, and clinical pharmacy operations
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
• Commitment to professional conduct and continuous improvement
