The Provider Function is responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, education and prevention. Ensures high-quality, patient-centered comprehensive care, including; medical oncology, radiation therapy, surgical oncology and hematology, etc. A radiation oncologist is a physician who specializes in treating cancer with radiation therapy. They create personalized treatment plans, oversee the administration of radiation, and help manage any side effects that may arise. The Radiation Oncologist will be responsible for managing the care and treatment of cancer patients. The Radiation Oncologist will work closely with center team members to implement treatment plans and monitor progress. Major Responsibilities include working with patients to discuss and understand treatment options and assist in managing the side effects and symptoms of the treatment; communicating effectively with patients, families and center team members; handling stressful situations, making informed decisions and giving emotional support to patients and their families; documenting and coordinating treatment plans for each patient; evaluating and assessing the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient’s response to treatment; performing administrative tasks such as keeping patients notes and records updated, writing prescriptions, providing education information to patients and monitoring treatment plans; responding to patient and referring physician needs and concerns regarding patient’s treatment as expeditiously as possible; attending any required clinic meetings; promoting cooperation and teamwork among other physicians and team members of the clinic; complying with all credentialing, quality assurance and utilization review criteria adopted by the Company; adhering to the company’s code of conduct and compliance program requirements; complying with all rules, regulations, policies and procedures regarding medical record documentation and coding accuracy standards; maintaining values consistent with the profession’s code of ethics and scope of practice as well as adhering to national, company standards, policies and procedures regarding treatment delivery and patient care; participating in continuing education programs required to maintain clinical competency; and performing any other functions as required. Qualifications include MD or MD/PhD with medical training specifically in radiation oncology, Board certified and/or Board eligible in radiation oncology with a state license in good standing, willingness to take and pass boards within 12 months if Board eligible, ability to interpret clinical, genomic and efficacy data, motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, thorough and up-to-date knowledge of cancers and cancer treatment options, technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to cancer treatment, excellent communication and presentation skills, and compliance with privileging, credentialing, and licensing applications. Required competencies include strong leadership and team building skills, excellent judgment, dependability, conscientious performance, detail orientation, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, caring and empathetic nature, high ethical standards, and self-confidence.
