The Assistant Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. She/he implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice.
Utilizes the nursing process in the systematic assessment and formulation of individualized plans of care to meet patient needs. Exhibits critical thinking in the assessment, planning, prioritization, delivery, and evaluation of patient care.
Documents data collection and assessments, plans of care interventions and patient responses per policy.
Demonstrates knowledge, respect, and sensitivity of patient's rights. Serves as a patient advocate. Assures confidentiality of patient information.
Collaborates with other health care disciplines to coordinate patient care activities and discharge plans.
Assists Medical Providers with office-based procedures, vaccinations, injections, etc. if required.
Assists Medical Providers, Clinical Staff with patient care as needed.
Maintains effective and timely communication and cooperative working relationships with both clinical and non-clinical members of the interdisciplinary team and with personnel from other departments.
Coordinates, directs and supervises patient care activities, delegates tasks appropriately and accepts the accountability for her/his professional role.
Responsible for oversight of patient scheduling process.
Complies with Infection Control Policies.
Reviews lab results and reports critical and/or abnormal value to the MD Provider promptly.
Within Nursing Scope of Practice, assists with prescription orders/refills as requested by Provider.
Promotes safe and therapeutic environment for patients, which promotes health.
Decision making within Nursing Scope of Practice and consistent with hospital policy, procedures, and protocol.
Participates in, and supervises the orientation of clinical support personnel to the Practice.
Collaborates with the leadership to identify staff learning needs and supports an atmosphere conducive to the development of clinical support personnel.
Utilizes opportunities for clinical learning and participates in continuing education activities to meet established requirements and for own professional development.
Provides professional clinical supervision to the LPN/CMA staff.
Requirements
Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY.
BSN preferred
Clinical supervisory experience preferred
