Job Description

This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide essential counseling and social work services within an elementary school setting. Serving approximately 20 K-6 students, the role requires a dedicated professional with a Minnesota Social Worker or Counselor license to support student well-being and development in a compassionate and structured environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Licensed School Counselor or Social Worker with MN DOE School Social Worker or Counselor License
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (MSW) credentials are required if applying as a social worker
• Experience working with elementary-aged children (K-6) preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards

Location:

• Up North Learning Center, 5413 County 37 NW, Walker, MN 56484

Responsibilities:

• Provide counseling and social work support to approximately 20 students, addressing academic, emotional, and social challenges
• Develop individualized intervention plans and assist in crisis management
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to promote student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as per school and state guidelines
• Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance service delivery

Schedule:

• Full time, 37.5 hours per week
• Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
