I. JOB OVERVIEW

David Fowler Career Center (FDFCC) supports students and alumni by equipping them with lifelong career management skills. The Finance360 program , an integral initiative within FDFCC, is designed to launch successful finance careers by providing an immersive experience that enhances industry knowledge, career navigation skills, interview preparation, and professional networking. The Senior Career Coach, Finance360 plays a pivotal role in advancing GWSB’s mission by preparing students for thriving careers in the finance industry. This position offers targeted support to undergraduate students through programming and coaching that deepens their understanding of various finance roles, sharpens their interview and networking skills, and fosters professional readiness. Additionally, the Senior Career Coach builds and sustains relationships with GWU alumni, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to develop impactful programming and workshops. Collaborating with faculty and employer relations teams, the role ensures students have access to robust opportunities that align with their career aspirations, ultimately creating well-rounded professionals who are ready to make meaningful contributions on their first day in the workforce. Key Responsibilities: Program Management and Development Design, develop, and implement a two-semester experiential learning program to enhance students’ finance skills through workshops, presentations, and group activities. Engage alumni, faculty, and industry professionals to deliver workshops and learning sessions. Collaborate with the FDFCC employer relations team to cultivate relationships with companies recruiting for finance positions on campus. Manage all administrative aspects of Finance360, including budgets, contracts, record-keeping, and departmental logistics. Oversee the collection and reporting of program statistics, including student internships, job interviews, and employment outcomes. Student Coaching and Support Provide one-on-one coaching to students, including assessing career goals and interests, resume development, interview preparation, self-branding (e.g., LinkedIn), and readiness for professional roles. Promote student engagement and participation in Finance360. Direct the activities of GW student workers supporting the program. Collaboration and Relationship Building Develop and maintain relationships with faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to create meaningful opportunities for students. Foster enthusiasm and teamwork among program participants and collaborators. Ensure all activities align with the program’s objective of creating “Day 1 Market Ready” professionals. Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in finance, with demonstrated project management skills. Proven ability as a service-oriented leader fostering enthusiasm and teamwork.
