Overview:


We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with a strong background in Out-of-the-Box (OOB) ServiceNow development and hands-on experience in the Railroad industry domain. The role will focus on building and enhancing Personal Injury (PI) and Recordable Environmental Incident (REI) workflows within ServiceNow.


The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of incident management, regulatory compliance, and field operations relevant to railroad safety and environmental reporting. Experience with Health & Safety modules is preferred but not mandatory.


Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and configure OOB ServiceNow applications to support Personal Injury (PI) and Recordable Environmental Incident (REI) workflows.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and process owners in the Railroad domain to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Leverage Flow Designer, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Business Rules, and Script Includes to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems as needed to support safety and compliance reporting.
• Customize and enhance forms, notifications, and reports using ServiceNow best practices.
• Perform unit testing, defect resolution, and participate in UAT.
• Provide technical documentation and support for ongoing platform improvements.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 4-7 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development (customizations, configurations, and integrations).
• Strong understanding of OOB ServiceNow capabilities - able to configure without over-customization.
• Experience developing workflows for Railroad operations, safety incidents, or regulatory reporting.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting.
• Knowledge of Flow Designer, Service Catalog, Incident/Problem/Change modules, and Notifications.
• Familiarity with REST/SOAP integrations within ServiceNow.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and ServiceNow platform architecture.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with ServiceNow Health & Safety or HR Service Delivery modules.
• Exposure to Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) use cases.
• Background in Railroad operations, transportation, or industrial safety workflows.
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD, CIS - HR or ITSM) are a plus.
