The Manager Occupational Health System Wide manages programs and services that develop and maintain healthy and safe workplace environments. This role manages the department responsible for the promotion and restoration of health, the prevention of illness and injury, and the protection from occupational and environmental hazards. The Occupational Health Manager System Wide is responsible for administering, coordinating, and resolving occupational health problems concerning work procedures and standards, staffing, quality of care, program development, and utilization of hospital facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Ensures support with health concerns through consultation, referrals, resources, and workplace modifications as needed to support health and wellness.
Communicates regularly with health care providers on status and early return to work planning to reduce lost time.
Assesses temporary illnesses and occupational injuries or exposures and provides treatment or referral for care.
Ensures occupational health coverage for patient care areas and needs, including assigning staff and adjusting staff scheduling to efficiently meet patient and hospital demand.
Meets occupational health operational standards by developing department policies, procedures, and safety initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5 years of experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
Preferred: COHN certification
