Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Facility: Hays Medical Center Location: 2220 Canterbury Dr, Hays, KS 67601 Shift: Night Shift, 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) (3x12 ls available) Job Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 04/07/2025 Number of Positions: 2 Compensation and Benefits: • Weekly Gross: $3,204.00 Per Week • On W2(Taxable): $1,104.00 Per Week ($23/hour) • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,100.00 Per Week Job Description: Hays Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical Unit. This role offers a night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The contract duration is 13 weeks, and the start date is 04/07/2025. As a Registered Nurse on the Surgical Unit, you will provide high-quality care to primary surgical patients, utilizing your clinical skills and experience in a fast-paced and high-acuity environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide patient care on the Surgical Unit to patients recovering from various surgical procedures. • Float between units if necessary, based on staffing needs. • Perform IV starts, monitor patient conditions, and administer medications as per physician orders. • Use the Meditech EMR system to document patient care and update records. • Work weekdays and some weekends, adhering to the hospital's schedule. • Assist with charge nurse duties as needed. Requirements: • Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical Nursing and experience as a Charge Nurse. • BLS certification required. • IV Start skills required. • Floating is required to different units if needed due to staffing shortages. • Location Requirement: Candidate's permanent residence must be 60 miles or more away from the facility. Additional Information: • EMR System: Meditech. • Block Scheduling: No block scheduling beyond 3-4 shifts.
