Travel Nurse Across America is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Olympia, Washington.

Job Description & Requirements

Active WA/Compact license.
Certs required: BLS, NIH. ACLS preferred.
Experience required: 1.5-2 years with strong MS skills
First-time traveler: Yes with 3+ years of MS. Central Lines, IV Antibiotics, heparin drips, nebulizer treatments, dressing changes, various drains, and ostomies, basic tele experience (remote), Able to draw labs (preferred), General Surgery recovery (especially in Ortho), Will have to take a rhythm interpretation exam.

Patient Types:
MST: Sepsis, Pneumonia, COPD, CHF, GI Bleeds, ETOH/IVDA, SI, Psych, COVID, simple neuro (CVAs, TIAs), telemetry
Surgical Patients: Ortho, General Surgery, bariatric
No Open Hearts, No Dialysis
Patient Ratios:
MST:
Day: 1:4-5
Night 1:5-6
ED Holding:
Depends on the service line (PCU, MS, ICU)
Will have mixed assignment (Covid and non-Covid)
CNA:
Days: 1:8-10
Nights: 1:10-12

Support on the Unit:
CNA - blood sugars, remove foley/IVs, place external catheters, EKGs
Charge nurse: occasionally with patient assignment (dependent on staffing)
Phlebotomy: shared responsibility with nursing
RT 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7
OT, PT, ST (7 days a week)
Unit Secretary 24/7
Code Blue Team
RRT
Charting System/Equipment:
EPIC (preferred)
Alaris IV Pumps
Pyxis Medication Dispensing
Central monitoring with tele tech
Floating:
Mid shift floating is possible
PCU-low acuity PCU patients (no drips)
Women Services- Gynecological patients (MS level)
Sitter 1:1 care (dependent on level of care)
LD or ER not taking a patient assignment helping hands/resource/within scope of practice (vital signs/SI sitter)
