Overview
The Board of Directors (BOD) of the Childrens Center of Knoxville (CCK) provides strategic oversight, governance, and support to ensure the organization fulfills its mission to serve families of diverse incomes and backgrounds with high-quality early childhood education. BOD members are elected for a 2-year term and advocate for inclusive, safe spaces where children can express themselves, develop life skills, and grow into compassionate world citizens.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Guide the organizations mission and vision through sound governance and long-term planning. Financial Oversight: Ensure fiscal responsibility, approve budgets, and support sustainable funding initiatives. Advocacy & Community Engagement: Promote CCKs work within the community, cultivating partnerships and increasing awareness. Fundraising & Resource Development: Help secure funding through donor engagement, grant opportunities, and networking. Policy & Ethical Leadership: Ensure compliance with regulations and uphold ethical practices in decision-making. Committee Participation: Serve on board committees to advance specific initiatives. Executive Director Support: Collaborate with and provide oversight for organizational leadership.Background
CCK is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has offered programming to children under five since 1976. Our mission is to support families from diverse incomes and backgrounds by providing high-quality early childhood education that celebrates and supports the strengths and growth of each unique child. CCK is a 3-Star certified daycare center that offers need-based scholarships and state aid subsidies annually to enrolled families. We are proud to serve the Knoxville community and future generations.
