Position Title: Welder

Wage: $20-$25/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: TBD 6am-3/4pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Welder for a company in Waterloo, IA. This is an associate to hire role.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all material is welded correctly by studying blueprints, visualizing and planning sequence of welding
- Prepare material to be welded: group together material, check sizes to print, align material per part paint, print, tack together weldment, verify tolerances, and weld product or weldment
- Produce quality weldment by accurately welding product or weldment
- May perform hard welds, production welding, and heat treating
- Finish weldment by grinding, sanding, chipping rough or sharp edges, weld splatter, surplus weld
- Maintain a safe workplace by cleaning work area, machines tools

Welder Requirements:
- Experience with MIG welding (TIG desired)
- Stainless steel welding experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand work instructions and mechanical blueprints
- Experience operating overhead cranes
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Forklift experience
- Attentive to detail
- Experience in welding fabricated components
- Must have a good knowledge of industrial machinery components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to use and have basic computer skills
- Ability to read and understand precision measuring tools
- Familiar with machine shop environment and safety measures
- Maintain appropriate channels of communication
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Stand for long periods of time
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs
