Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Art Director will lead the creative vision across a portfolio of world-class experiences. This is a hands-on creative leadership role that blends high-end aesthetic sensibility with cultural intuition, bringing BHC’s distinctive properties to life across every visual touchpoint. This role will craft compelling campaigns and storytelling assets that capture the unique spirit of each property across the BHC portfolio. Whether concepting a seasonal campaign, directing a photo shoot, or building a brand moment from scratch, your work will shape how guests and locals alike connect with the BHC experience—elevating the brand while honoring its Southern heritage and modern sensibility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Craft high-impact layouts, storyboards, and visual narratives for both client-facing presentations and internal creative reviews. Translate strategic objectives into cohesive visual concepts that inspire and inform.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to plan and execute world-class photo shoots, video content, and multimedia campaigns. Provide clear direction on set and ensure a strong, consistent aesthetic throughout.
  • Uphold and evolve the visual identity of the brand across all channels—from integrated marketing and experiential activations to social media and internal communications.
  • Stay sharp on emerging design trends, social formats, and cultural shifts. Proactively introduce fresh creative ideas that push boundaries and elevate the brand experience.
  • Partner with GMs, marketing, and events teams to tailor creative outputs that reflect the unique identity and guest experience of each space.
  • Concept and produce design work that spans formats—e.g., in-room guest materials, event signage, menus, digital billboards, park programming flyers, and immersive experiential installations.
  • Select and oversee external collaborators including photographers, stylists, illustrators, and production vendors to ensure creative alignment and brand consistency across all executions.
  • Drive the visual development of BHC’s marquee events (e.g., culinary weekends, brand partnerships, holiday activations), delivering campaign toolkits and content that amplify visibility and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized asset library and brand system that ensures quality, continuity, and ease of access across BHC teams and partners—photos, templates, iconography, and campaign creative.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of creative concepting and art direction experience, either in-house or within an agency environment.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates standout visual thinking, integrated campaign work, and platform-specific design fluency.
  • Deep understanding of internet and social media culture with a knack for creating content that resonates across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and beyond.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and video editing tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • Exceptional visual instincts: composition, typography, layout hierarchy, and detail orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight timelines while maintaining creative excellence.
  • Passion for lifestyle, luxury, and crafting memorable brand moments.
  • Bonus: Strong copywriting skills and the ability to bring a clear voice to visual storytelling.

CLOSING DETAILS:

BHC is an equal employment opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on merit and business needs, and are not based on race, color, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions), citizenship status, national origin, ancestry, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, marital status, veteran status, uniformed service, political affiliation, genetic information, or any other factor or characteristic protected by applicable law.
