Bakery Associate

Pay: $18 - $20

Shift: Morning / Swing

Job Description

As a Bakery Associate, you will play a crucial role in the lamination, mixing, and production processes of our bakery items, including donuts, Danish, and muffins. You will work closely with your team to ensure product quality and adherence to safety standards, while actively contributing to a dynamic production environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete the pre-operational production checklist and obtain necessary approvals before starting your tasks.
• Inspect ingredient containers for damage and cleanliness, and reject any compromised materials.
• Pre-scale ingredients using digital scales and record lot numbers for each dough type.
• Monitor the mixing process by inspecting ingredients for contaminants and setting appropriate mix times.
• Oversee the lamination process, including recording lot numbers, filling flour barrels, and managing dough and fat extruder operations.
• Ensure all areas are clean and organized at the end of each shift, disposing of waste appropriately.
• Assist in the production and packaging lines, ensuring product specifications are met.
• Participate in training and cross-training sessions, and provide assistance during rest breaks and lunches as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the production run, and ensure all equipment and materials are stored properly at the end.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and improve efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Experience in food production, food handling, and food safety.
• Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and the ability to work in a GMP environment.
• Machine operation and general labor skills.
• Ability to lift and push/pull 50lbs continuously throughout the day.
• Proficiency in basic English language comprehension, both spoken and written.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that can be hot and loud, with a pleasant aroma. Adherence to strict GMP guidelines is required, including specific attire and personal hygiene standards. Be prepared to work in an environment with gluten/flour exposure and follow all safety protocols, including wearing non-slip safety footwear and appropriate protective clothing.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
