Job Title: Farm Laborer Job Description Join our team to support seed production plants primarily focused on corn and soy. You'll be located in the same growing regions as our production plants across multiple locations. The work is comprised of approximately 70% parent testing and 30% innovation and process improvements, contributing to the advancement of seed production best practices.
Responsibilities - Assist in planting, staking, weeding, certifications, scouting, and early season note taking from May to mid-June.
- Engage in round-up spray trials, fungicide studies, tassel note taking, detasseling, scouting, and weeding during the busiest period from mid-June to July.
- Complete tassel notes, fall notes, defoliation studies, and start hand harvest in August.
- Collect fall notes, defoliate, hand harvest, and gather samples in September.
- Participate in machine harvest, fall note taking, hand harvest, and sample collection in October.
- Conduct harvest and clean-up activities in November.
- Operate medium-sized farm equipment and collect notes in the field.
- Work independently and collaboratively in assigned field sections, contributing to data collection from research plots.
Essential Skills - 6+ months of outdoor work experience.
- 6+ months of manual labor experience in farm, dairy, construction, or landscaping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications - Preferred 6+ months experience operating skid steers, backhoes, loaders, and farming equipment.
- Willingness to obtain a pesticide license.

Work Environment The work begins at the primary site and involves travel to offsite locations using company vehicles. You'll return to the main site daily. The job requires working outdoors in various weather conditions. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM, with overtime as needed. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, and outdoor layers as required.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Waco, Nebraska.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
