We’re looking for a Spanish-speaking Legal Assistant to help provide exceptional service to clients during some of the most critical moments in their lives. You will need to assist our team through each phase of litigation, including investigation, discovery, pleadings, and trial.

Compensation:

$35,000 - $50,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with managing criminal case files, ensuring deadlines are met and documents are organized.
  • Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including motions, correspondence, and pleadings.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other legal professionals to facilitate case progress.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings, ensuring calendars are up to date.
  • Conduct light research and gather necessary case information as directed.
  • Provide general administrative support to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Billing for your time working on files.
Qualifications:
  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: You thrive on keeping things in order and ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Adaptable and Proactive: Self-starter able to pivot quickly between tasks and anticipate what’s needed next.
  • Compassionate Communicator: You possess excellent communication skills and can work effectively with people under stress.
  • Spanish Speaking.
  • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in criminal defense or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software experience with Clio is a plus along with being technically savvy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures in criminal law.
  • Federal experience is a plus and will set you apart from other candidates.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal certifications are a plus.
