What You Will Do
This position will be filled at either the Software Developer 1/2 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.
The Software Developer will become part of a highly visible team that manages M365 products for Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The core of your responsibilities will be to maintain service availability, provide world class customer service to a licensed community of 19,700 users, and to design, participate, and develop technologies that exceed the collaboration needs for LANL. You will provide strong service and application development related to SharePoint and will participate in projects that include the migration of SharePoint on-premises to SharePoint Online. This migration includes the evaluation and redevelopment of supporting workflows and applications that can be found in both SharePoint on-premises and M365.
As a SharePoint Developer, you will primarily work with SharePoint Admins, the M365 Team, and customers to align their needs for site development, workflows, and migrating sites from on-premises to SharePoint Online using Power Platform resources such as Power Automate and Power Apps. LANL currently supports Nintex workflows and features, and each site needs to migrate those workflows based on the new designs implemented for SharePoint Online.
Software Developer 1 ($71,200 - $112,900)
The successful candidate will perform a full spectrum of development duties, including but not limited to:
- Developing SharePoint sites based on user requirements.
- Provide tier-3 level support utilizing ServiceNow incident management.
- Vendor support related to troubleshooting applications and managing customer expectations.
- Support services related to SharePoint, SQL, and Power Automate / Nintex workflows.
Software Developer 2 ($85,900 - $139,900) The successful candidate will perform a full spectrum of development duties, including but not limited to:
- Developing SharePoint sites based on user requirements.
- Provide tier-3 level support utilizing ServiceNow incident management.
- Vendor support related to troubleshooting applications and managing customer expectations.
- Support services related to SharePoint, SQL, and Power Automate / Nintex workflows.
What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: Minimum Job Requirements for Software Developer 1: - Knowledge and experience with programming languages, database design, and security strategies.
- Knowledge of Web page development and maintenance supporting Web-based tools and utilities.
- Knowledge of the use of test plans and use cases to support the design and operation of SharePoint sites.
- Knowledge of emerging computing technologies in industry related to M365 and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies in order to meet deliverables, deadlines, and budget requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements for Software Developer 2: - Demonstrated knowledge and experience with programming languages, database design, security strategies and component integration
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with automation and strategies for achieving DevSecOps
- Demonstrated knowledge of hardware and software integration and testing.Ability to review and understand end-to-end work processes.
- Ability to translate technical terms to layperson's terms and present them to non-technical audiences.
Education/Experience at Software Developer 1 level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education/Experience at Software Developer 2 level: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications: - Experience with Power Automate and Nintex workflow design and implementation.
Work Location: The work location for this position has the potential for remote work. Remote work is defined as working offsite that is greater than 2 hours of the Laboratory location. Reporting onsite may be periodically necessary. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
