The purpose of a NIGHT AUDITOR is to compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Essential duties include approaching all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner; complying with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations; maintaining a friendly and warm demeanor; initiating and completing the End of Day process; running all reports as required for Food and Beverage audit; completing the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily; balancing the day’s work; maintaining cashiering responsibilities as per Front Office procedures; maintaining Front Office computer system operation; fulfilling all Front Office functions between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.; handling and following through on all guest requests during the shift; following safety and emergency procedures; maintaining proper record keeping; being familiar with all policies and house rules; completing initial direct bills daily and placing them on the Property Accountant's desk; maintaining radio contact with other employees during the shift; having a working knowledge of security procedures; ensuring employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous; preparing and distributing the Daily Flash Report; and performing other duties as requested by supervisor. Education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred. Completion of Bartender's school or course is preferred.
