About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at South Denver Pain and Wellness plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive outpatient care focused on pain management and overall wellness. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions, utilizing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans that address both physical and psychosocial aspects of pain. Additionally, the role requires ongoing patient education, monitoring treatment efficacy, and adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure optimal health and quality of life. Ultimately, this position aims to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that supports recovery and enhances wellness in a supportive outpatient clinic environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/Physician license in the state of practice.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing pr Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification.
  • Experience working in an outpatient clinical setting, preferably in pain management or related specialties.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Active DEA License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Pain Management or related specialty (e.g., American Academy of Pain Management certification).
  • Experience with interdisciplinary team collaboration in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems specific to outpatient clinics.
  • Advanced training in pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain therapies.
  • Experience in patient education and wellness program development.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations related to pain and wellness.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies tailored to patient needs.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Provide patient education on pain management strategies, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and wellness promotion.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and documenting all clinical interactions accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and clinical guidelines related to outpatient pain management and healthcare delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay current with advances in pain management and outpatient care.

The required skills in outpatient clinic management are essential for conducting comprehensive patient evaluations and delivering effective pain management treatments in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills enable the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to identify complex pain conditions and develop tailored care plans. Effective communication and collaboration skills are used daily to work with multidisciplinary teams and to educate patients about their treatment options and wellness strategies. Proficiency with electronic health records ensures accurate documentation and continuity of care. Preferred skills such as advanced pain management certification and experience with wellness program development enhance the ability to provide holistic, evidence-based care that addresses both physical symptoms and overall patient well-being.

Salary: $115,000 - $150,000 for full time poisition
