Job Description

A client of ours is looking for a PFP Engineer within the consulting space who has a high level of design experience. The projects will be a mix of new builds/rehabs across the NY Metro region for higher education, commercial high rise, data centers, and civic projects.

Responsibilities -

• Preparation of Plumbing and Fire Protection designs, calculations, estimates, reports and specifications for building projects.
• Design Sanitary, Storm, Domestic Water, Natural Gas, Wet/Dry/Pre-action Sprinkler systems and Fire Standpipe systems.
• Utilize 3D software's such as Revit and AutoCAD
• Site survey of existing conditions, construction punchlists
• Meeting with clients to discuss project matters and making recommendations when necessary based on the clients’ needs.

Qualifications -

• The ideal candidate will have skills with AutoCAD, REVIT, Hydraulic Calculations, specification writing, familiarity with applicable building codes, cost estimating and other mechanical engineering tasks
• Successful candidate will have 4+ years relevant experience designing wide variety of facilities for industrial, educational, institutional and governmental projects
• The experience should be with all of the systems associated with Plumbing and Fire Protection design including Sanitary, Storm, Domestic Water, Natural Gas, Wet/Dry/Pre-action Sprinkler systems and Fire Standpipe systems
• Good planning, organizational and communications skills are necessary for success in this position
