We are seeking a P/T Bankruptcy Legal Assistant to become a part of our team! You will provide overall support, remotely, in complex bankruptcy litigation, mainly in Florida and Delaware.

Responsibilities :

• Monitor court docket activity for all pending cases
• Responsible for calendar maintenance and scheduling of hearings
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of court filings through the CM/ECF system
• Assist in preparation of hearing folders and post-hearing tasks
• Investigate facts to assist attorney as assigned
• Workflow control using MS Office/Outlook and Clio Manage
• Daily processing of CM/ECF Notices received from the bankruptcy courts
• Interface with clients via telephone and email
• Providing copies of pleadings and motions to clients

​ Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a litigation legal assistant or paralegal in bankruptcy law
• Ability to concisely communicate with principal attorney and judicial staff
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high-pressure litigation practice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented in all matters
• Familiarity with Federal and Local procedural rules of bankruptcy court (you will have assistance and additional training, if required.
• Law students or those waiting for bar results are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training and education in bankruptcy law, substantive and procedural, to those demonstrating aptitude and willingness to study and learn.
• You must be interactive, proactive and professional
• You must be available at least 4 hours per day, with potential for full-time employment with our firm based on job performance and other factors

This is mainly a solo practice after leaving "Big Law". However, very busy and demanding position that requires prior experience in procedural bankruptcy law and practice. Knowledge of local rules and uploading of motions, pleadings, orders and notices using the bankruptcy court's CM/ECF system is strictly required
