Job Description

Job Description

Comet Fuel’s mission is to empower founders to sustainably grow to $5M-$10M/yr through holistic & measurable advertising campaigns (without all the typical agency BS). If you align with our values: Set the bar high, focus on what matters, creative innovation, and question the status quo - we want to hear from you.

We’re hiring a full-time, remote, Pay Per Click (PPC) Specialist with a heavy focus on Google Ads to join our team of creative and technical specialists. You’ll work closely with our Founder (and Lead Strategist), Creative Director, and other team members - ensuring every account, touch point, and report is leveraged for maximum impact (giving the client the highest possible return on their ad spend).

If you’re adaptable, thrive in ambiguity, communicate clearly, an independent problem solver, and are ready to take ownership of ad account performance - keep reading.

Role:

This role is about impact, the kind that turns ad spend into predictable, profitable growth. You are the strategist and operator who makes Google Ads work at the highest level—finding leverage in data, shaping campaigns with precision, and driving results that compound.

Your job is to turn chaos into clarity. You’ll translate business goals into targeting, request or adapt creative, and explain why/how outcomes were achieved. You’ll monitor the signals, cut the noise, and keep the accounts evolving faster than competitors. You understand that every dollar matters, that profit - not conversions are the goal, and you’ll treat the account like your own—testing, optimizing, and scaling.

If you thrive in data, see patterns where others see randomness, obsess over mastering the platform, and can move fast while keeping the details sharp—you’ll be at home here.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Create, manage, and optimize ad campaigns with purpose
Plan, execute, and iterate on campaigns that drive leads and profit - with a heavy focus on Google Ads.

  • Audit accounts to provide impactful insights
Review existing ad accounts from new clients or existing clients, creating clear recommendations and plans that improve performance.

  • Track & report on performance
Regularly review what’s working or not working to continuously improve ad performance. Report findings internally with the team and externally with clients.

  • Help answer client & team questions
Assist account and project management by responding to queries about account changes, performance, and strategy.

  • Stay on top of trends and releases
Help the team understand emerging platform features, strategies, tools, and bugs.

  • Keep everyone in the loop
Share updates on timeline, deliverables, performance, and any blockers. No one’s left guessing.

  • Collaborate often
Join in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and account reviews. Your voice and ideas matter here.

  • Stay organized
Maintain clean files and documentation in ClickUp and Google Drive, keep tasks updated - No one’s left guessing.

  • Find ways to work smarter
Test and recommend new tools, processes, techniques, and automations that help us move faster without losing quality.

  • Evolve our processes
Help us refresh, refine, and iterate our processes based on how the industry and platform evolve and what our brand needs.

Requirements:

  • You’ve owned Google Ads account performance and growth before.
You’ve helped accounts profitability scale and you can explain how you did it. We don’t care if you’ve been doing this for 10 months or 10 years, we measure experience in outcomes achieved, not time.

  • You’ve been able to achieve success on Google Ads
With small (under $10,000/m in spend on a single platform) and medium (under $50,000/m in spend) sized accounts. Bonus if you’ve worked on accounts spending $50,000-$150,000/m.

  • You know Google Ads inside and out.
You have deep knowledge on Google Ads, how their algorithms work, and each campaign type.

  • You think strategically
You’re not just making changes for fun or to have something to report on. You’re proactively looking at what’s working and what can be done better; adjusting based on what moves the needle.

  • You think about business objectives
You understand that clients are running ads to make money, not generate traffic or conversions. They need qualified traffic at an acceptable cost that ultimately leads to profitable sales for their business.

  • You can juggle multiple projects
You know how to manage timelines, meet deadlines, and still produce great work under pressure.

  • You obsess over details
You care about getting things right and catching the little things others miss.

  • You communicate clearly
Whether you’re writing, giving feedback, or sharing a performance update, you’re clear and easy to work with.

  • You’re adaptable
Platforms change fast. You’re curious, flexible, willing, and proactive to evolve with them.

  • Bonus if you’re familiar with these - not a deal breaker
Ad copywriting, Unbounce/landing page builders, conversion tracking (client-side, server-side, and enhanced using Google Tag Manager, Stape, or CRMs like HubSpot), CallRail, Meta Ads, and ChatGPT.

Who This Role is NOT For:

  • Those who need hand-holding, constant direction, or a to-do list to take action.

  • Anyone who gets rattled when priorities shift, timelines tighten, or things move fast.

  • Those who prioritize “done” over “done right”. Excellence isn’t optional here.

  • Anyone looking for a traditional agency role. You’ll join a small team with each individual having ownership over their work and a voice to evolve the business. This is not a role to just come in and complete tasks by blindly following SOPs.

Location & Schedule:

  • Remote

  • Flexible schedule - You should generally be available during business hours (EST/EDT) to respond to messages, attend meetings, and handle time-sensitive work. You’ll have flexibility to set your schedule otherwise.

Compensation:

  • $60,000-$80,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Benefits:

  • Flexible time off (unlimited PTO) and paid holidays (including winter break)

  • Bonuses (Annual; Switching to quarterly in 2026)

  • Health coverage via ICHRA: We offer an Individual Coverage HRA that lets you choose your own ACA-compliant plan and get reimbursed tax-free
