About Us:

First Trinity Academy is a growing private school committed to academic excellence and community engagement. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with a background in school or education-based accounting to manage our financial records and provide accurate reporting in collaboration with the school administrator.

Position Overview:

The Bookkeeper will work remotely, maintaining consistent communication with the Administrator and attending in-person monthly meetings ; hence, we need someone local to Leesburg, Florida . The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of QuickBooks and experience in handling financial operations for educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and categorize all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
• Reconcile accounts and bank statements on a monthly basis
• Prepare and manage budgets in coordination with the school administrator
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and reporting
• Produce monthly and year-end financial reports , including:
• 
  
  • Profit and Loss Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • General Ledger Summary
• Track and reconcile tuition payments, grants, donations, payroll, and expenses
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies
• Assist with annual financial reviews and budget preparation for the next fiscal year

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting for schools, non-profits, or small businesses
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
• Strong understanding of budget management and financial reporting
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Schedule & Compensation:

• Flexible remote schedule (approx. 10–15 hours per month)
• One monthly in-person meeting required
• Compensation based on experience and scope of work
