Summary / Objective:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, performing general accounting duties, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or related roles preferred, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • CPA or working towards certification is a plus.

Typical Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Prompt, regular, and dependable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in SAP with proper supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Prepare and complete month-end closing procedures, including G1.
  • Ensure accruals and adjustments are recorded timely.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Identify areas of process improvement within accounting functions and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting as needed.
  • Responsible for lease accounting.
  • Assist in other duties within the finance/accounting organization as needed, to allow for cross-training and use of resources as critical needs arise.
  • Open to cross-training in other areas within accounting, to learn duties not core to the role itself and to provide backup as needed.
  • Assist in special projects, especially related to SAP integration and upgrades, as needed.
  • Additional assignments as deemed necessary by Management.
