Benefits: Competitive salary Flexible schedule Opportunity for advancement Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Installer to join our team on an ongoing sub-contractor basis for residential and/or commercial applications in Downtown Chicago, servicing neighborhoods such as Gold Coast, Old Town, River North, Streeterville, The Loop, West Loop, South Loop, Pilsen, Heart of Chicago, and other satellite areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing tiles in various settings, ensuring all projects are completed with precision and excellence. Key Responsibilities: Tile Installation: Efficiently install tiles on floors, walls, ceilings, countertops, and other surfaces according to specified plans and layouts. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for tiling by cleaning, leveling, and waterproofing to ensure a proper foundation. Cutting and Shaping: Measure, cut, and shape tiles to fit designated spaces, using tools such as tile cutters and saws. Grouting and Sealing: Apply grout between tiles, wipe off excess, and seal surfaces to prevent water damage and ensure durability. Design Consultation: Collaborate with clients and designers to select tile patterns, colors, and designs matching the desired aesthetic. Quality Assurance: Inspect finished work to ensure adherence to quality standards and client specifications. Maintenance and Repair: Provide maintenance services for existing installations, including repair and replacement of damaged tiles. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and regulations, including proper handling of tools and materials. Insurance Requirements: Possess errors and omissions insurance of at least $2 million. Maintain insurance coverage extending to employees or third parties, with minimum coverage of $500,000 bodily injury and $1,000,000 property damage. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Tile Installer, preferably in Chicago buildings, high rises, homes, and businesses. Familiarity with materials, methods, and tools involved in tile installation. Strong attention to detail and precision. Ability to interpret blueprints and layout plans. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Physical stamina and strength for handling heavy materials and equipment.
